ARRIVAL -UDAWALAWE


  • Upon Meet & Greet at the Colombo international airport by Travelwind Holidays Staff and introduce to our chauffeur driver who will be taking care of you for next 14 Days in Sri Lanka.
  • You will have the private car throughout the tour with private chauffeur driver.
  • Take a smooth drive to Udawalawe, Journey takes approx. 5Hrs to reach to the hotel with stops for tea/coffee breaks and refresh.
  • Check in at the hotel and relax.

You can visit Elephant Transit Camp in Udawalawe :

  • The Udawalawe Elephant Transfer Home is a facility within Udawalawe National Park in Sri Lanka that was established in 1995 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation. Its primary objective is to rehabilitate orphaned elephant calves for ultimate release back into the wild

  • Afternoon by 1400Hrs commence a Jeep Safari at Udawalawe National Park.
    Udawalawe National Park – covers an area of 230,821 hectares and was declared in 1972.
    This Park is rich in Elephant population as the Park has about 500 Elephants. Wild Buffalo, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Sambhur, Hare, Mongoose, Crocodile and 30 species of Snakes are recorded, 50 species of Butterflies and many species of Birds are found in the Park.

UDAWALAWE - SINHARAJA RAINFOREST


  • Breakfast at the hotel and take easy drive to Rathnapura and visit the Gem city of Ratnapura.

  • Travel to Sinharaja Rain forest hotel and afternoon relax and enjoy the nature and surrounds.

RAINFOREST - NUWARA ELIYA


  • You will be picked from the hotel at 0545Hrs from the hotel with Pack breakfast and nature walk & trekking inside the rainforest. ( We will organize the naturalist for your walk)

  • Sinharaja Rain Forest Reserve - Sinharaja is the only ”World Heritage Site” Rain Forest in Sri Lanka, with a very high rate of bio-diversity. The vegetation is tropical wet evergreen forest and the area under the reserve is 11,187 hectares.
    Out of the 331 woody trees and lianas identified 192 (60%) are endemic at Sinharaja.
    Regarding Fauna 141 bird species recorded here and 24 are endemic (27 for the entire country), Butterflies 65 species (1 endemic), Fishes 10 (07 endemic), Amphibians 19 (08 endemic), Reptiles & Snakes 29 (14 endemic), and Mammals 40 (07 endemic).
    Sinharaja is the only relatively undisturbed rain forest of any considerable size and many of the plants are very rare and are represented by only one individual of its kind in a large area.

NUWARA ELIYA - HORTON PLAINS - WORLD END’s


  • You will be picked from the hotel at 0600Hrs and we take you to the entrance of Hortain Plains Trekking point.

  • Commence the trekking Excursion at Hortain Plains and trek to Worlds end place.

  • We will organize a Jeep during the visit for trekking.
    Horton Plains National Park – 20 miles (32 km) from Nuwara Eliya via Ambewela and Pattipola, is the Horton Plains only 3160 hectares in extent. Known to Sri Lankans as Mahaeliya, it became Horton Plains after Sir Robert Horton, British Governor from 1831- 1837.
    Horton Plains became a Nature Reserve in 1969 and upgraded as a National Park in 1988 due to its unique watershed and bio-diversity values.
    Its flora has high level of endemism. The hills are covered with diverse wet low evergreen forest with even large trees grown flattened to the ground on the higher windswept slopes.
    Horton Plains harbours 52 species of resident birds and 11 species of migrant birds.
    More then 2,000 to 3,000 Sambhur, Bear Monkey, Leopard, Barking Deer, Giant Squirrel, Fishing Cat, Wild Boar and Hares roam in the forests and grasslands but only seldom they could be seen other than the Sambhur in the evening and morning.

  • After completion return back to the Bungalow, Enjoy the breakfast and relax.
  • Afternoon visit Pedro Tea Factory, Gregory Lake, Nuwara Eliya City.
  • Evening return back to Bungalow and Dinner & overnight stay at the Bungalow. (Nuwara Eliya)

NUWARA ELIYA - TRAVEL BY TRAIN - KANDY


  • Breakfast at the hotel and our chauffeur driver will drop you at the Nanu- Oya Railway station to travel by Train to Kandy.
  • Train departs from Nanu-Oya Station at 0922Hrs and arrival in Kandy at 1238Hrs.
  • Our chauffeur driver will meet you at the Kandy Railway station and transfer to hotel for check in.
  • Afternoon relax bit and around 1630Hrs our driver will pick you from the hotel and take you to the Kandyan art center to witness the Kandyan culture show. Starts at 1700Hrs and finishes around 1800Hrs and then proceed to Temple of the tooth relic. Witness the ceremony at 1830Hrs.
  • Customers are requested to wear the proper dress when you enter to the temple.

KANDY– HABARANA


  • Breakfast at the hotel.

  • Brief city tour of Kandy, including visit of arts & craft places and bit shopping tour of Kandy.

  • Then take a smooth drive to Habarana, En route visit to Dambulla Rock cave temple, Spice Garden and Hindu Temple in Matale.

  • After completion drive to the hotel and check in and evening relax and enjoy at the pool at the hotel.

HABARANA – SIGIRIYA – POLONNARUWA


  • After breakfast proceed to World Heritage site of Sigiriya. The site of the 'Lion Mountain' was visited from the 6th century AD, by passionate admirers In the heart of Ceylon, the extraordinary site of Sigiriya, a lofty rock of reddish gneiss dominating, from a height of some 150 m, the neighboring plateau, has been inhabited since the 3rd century BC Sigiriya was created by King Kasyapa who reigned between 477-495 AD

  • Proceed to Polonnaruwa :
    Visit the Heritage site of Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka after the destruction of Anuradhapura in 993. It comprises, besides the Brahmanic monuments built by the Cholas, the monumental ruins of the fabulous garden-city created by Parakramabahu I in the 12th century Today the ancient city of Polonnaruwa remains one of the best planned archaeological relic sites in the country.

TOUR OF RITIGALA ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE & ANURADHAPURA ANCIENT CITY


  • After breakfast, proceed to Ritigala Archeological site and climb the Ritigala mountains.

  • Ritigala is an ancient Buddhist monastery and mountain in Sri Lanka. The ruins and rock inscriptions of the monastery date back to 1st century BCE. It is located 43 km away from the ancient monastic city of Anuradhapura.

  • After completion drive to Anuradhapura and commence the ancient city tour of Anuradhapura.

  • Anuradhapura - the capital of Sri Lanka from the 05th Century B.C. to the end of the 10th Century A.D. was the most celebrated of Sri Lanka’s ancient ruined cities. The city’s greatest treasures are its dagobas constructed of bricks and hemispherical in shape. The most notable of these dagobas are the Ruvanveliseya which dates back to the 2nd Century B.C. and is 300 feet in diameter, the Jetawanarama is 370 feet and the Thuparama Dagoba enshrines the collarbone of the Buddha. The city’s most renowned relic is the sacred Bo Tree, which is said to have grown from a branch of the tree under which the Buddha gained Enlightenment. It was planted 2250 years ago and is the oldest historically authenticated tree in the world.

HABARANA –TRINCOMALEE


  • After breakfast depart to Trincomalee. ( Journey takes approx. 1 ½ Hrs)

  • Brief tour of Trincomalee and if time permits visit to Konneswaram Hindu Temple.
    Trincomalee - is one of the largest and safest Natural Harbours in the World. Trincomalee is connected by Rail and Road. It has sunny weather throughout the year, with white sandy beaches, calm, placid and warm waters, ideal for underwater activities and for Whale watching.
    Trincomalee was a Buddhist Center known as “Gokanna” from very early times and later a Hindu Kovil was constructed at the site.
    In 1617 five (5) Danish ships entered Koddiyar Bay, but the negotiations with the Kandyan King was fruitless and they sailed away.
    In 1624 the Portuguese completed the construction of a Fort here after destroying the Hindu Temple at Swami Rock in the Fort.
    The Fort, which had only 3 Bastions was taken by the Dutch in 1639, but abandoned, re-fortified in 1675 and named it Fort Fedrick.
    In 1795the British captured it after a 4-day bombardment and it became the first possession of the British in Sri Lanka.
    Nilaveli-10 miles away is the finest beach in Trincomalee starting at Uppuveli- 5 miles away extending all the way to Nilaveli. Pigeon Island is a great place for Diving, Snorkeling and sea bathing.

TRINCOMALEE - WILLPATTU


  • Breakfast at the hotel and check out from the resort.
  •  Drive to Anuradhapura and check in at the Big Game Safari Tented camp
    ( Journey takes approx. 2 ½ hrs)

  • Lunch will be provided at the camp side.

  • Afternoon commence a Jeep safari to Wilpattu National Park.
    Wilpattu National Park – is 508 square miles (131.694 hectares) in extent and was declared as a National Park in 1938.
    The special feature in this Park is the large number of Villus (lakes) where you can watch wild life and many species of birds.
    Leopards were the most famous animal in this Park and are famous for its Wild Elephant herds. Spotted Deer, Sambhur, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Wild Buffalo, sloth Bear, Mongoose, Crocodile and Peacocks are also found here.

ANURADHAPURA - NEGOMBO


  • Breakfast at the hotel & checkout from the hotel.

  • Travel to Negombo, Journey takes approx. 4Hrs to reach to Negombo.

  • Check in in the afternoon and relax at the pool and Negombo Beach.

  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel. (Negombo )

NEGOMBO - AIRPORT


  • Breakfast at the hotel. Depending on your flight schedule we will transfer to airport for departure flight. Journey from Hotel to airport takes 15 minutes.
